In line with many positive changes comes to United Airlines, it’s just been announced that miles will no longer expire. That’s right, United’s frequent-flyer program, MileagePlus just got a whole lot sweeter. Members no longer have to worry about keeping their points active. In the past, miles with United were subject to expiration after 18 months of member inactivity.
Now, you’re free to live and travel without stressing over lost miles. Your beloved MileagePlus points are here to stay. Having such a busy lifestyle as many of us do, we have plenty of other things to worry about. United recognizes this about their customers, and would like to ensure that all loyalty is properly honored. For whatever reason you may be taking a break from flying with the airline, you shouldn’t be penalized from receiving the benefits you’ve earned. United MileagePlus is hopping onboard with other airline loyalty programs like Delta SkyMiles and JetBlue TrueBlue who have also done away with expiring points. Hopefully, it won’t be long before all frequent-flyer programs are doing the same.
A loyalty to Star Alliance and United sure pays off. With available travel to more destinations than any other U.S. carrier, opportunities are boundless. The entire world is at your disposal, making your vacations a lot more worthwhile. As always, these miles are flexible as well. United MileagePlus members have the option to use miles on items like eGift cards, which start as low as a cost of 1,000 miles.

This change is intended to allow you to make the most of your MileagePlus experience, no matter what circumstances you might find yourself in.
