Introducing Marriott Bonvoy Program

While showcasing a “new name and fresh perspective, “Marriott will release its updated travel app on February 13th, which means more savings and more rewards for us Pointsters.

After integrating in August 2018, Starwood Preferred Guest, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Marriott Rewards were left searching for a direction, and a name, to take their combined loyalty program forward. On January 16th, Marriott announced that their prospective name for the application would be Marriott Bonvoy.

“It mans good travel, an idea that inspires everything we do,” said Marriott’s community managers in a recent blog post.

According to Stephanie Linnartz, Marriott International’s global chief commercial officer, Marriott Bonvoy stands for much more than just a loyalty program. Rather, it is built on the idea that travel enriches the traveler and the destinations. Marriott Bonvoy intends to show its users a sense of richness that comes with traveling the world by providing access to upwards of 6,700 hotels and resorts across 129 nations. How will this affect the Pointsters??

With a new app comes new levels of status. Marriott Platinum Premier Elite members transition to Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite members. Marriott Platinum Premier Elite with Ambassador members will transition into Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite members. The programs gold, silver and platinum members will remain under the same name.

With the three programs retiring and taking on a new, innovative image, elite Platinum members will now receive complimentary upgrades, “to the best available room subject to availability for the entire length of stay at the time of check-in,” according to Marriott Bonvoy’s terms an agreements. This accommodation is available for all three tiers of platinum status and seeks to create a world of travel opportunities based on the customer’s wants.

Marriott assured its customers that benefits will not change from August 18, going forward, but the app intends to create more room for innovation in the future. With this innovation, what can Pointsters expect. Well, we will have to wait and find out. Until then, stay turned and get ready for Marriott Bonvoy’s release
