United Airlines’ new CRJ-550 is the world’s first and only 50-seat regional aircraft that offers first-class seats and amenities. I just had the opportunity to fly this plane from Chicago to Calgary, Alberta and I was very happy with my onboard experience. The aircraft is a premium cabin experience on every leg of your journey.
One of my favorite features of United’s CRJ-550 is that is has space for over 50 carry-on bags in the overhead compartments and carry-on cabinets, so gate-checking will be a thing of the past. I used to dread being on the small aircrafts where I wasn’t able to bring my carry-on because the aircraft over-head bin was just to small.
If you’re seated in United First, you can enjoy a wide assortment of snacks and beverages from the self-serve refreshment center.
Aboard the CRJ-550, you can stay connected to the outside world with the inflight entertainment personal device system and United Wi-Fi. It provides a great opportunity to get work done in the air as well.
There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re being crammed into an airplane. On this aircraft, you’ll have more overall legroom per seat than on any other 50-seat aircraft flown by a U.S. airline.
United’s CRJ-550 currently has 27 routes with with more flights coming soon. See where the aircraft will fly to from Chicago O’Hare, New York/Newark and Washington Dulles. You can also view a seat map on United’s website.
